Setting up a retake
There are two ways to set a retake.
- You can set a retake by creating a new test moment based on the same blueprint. This test moment does not take into account any retake settings that may or may not have been chosen.
- Another possibility is to set the relevant blueprint in such a way that a retake can be started from the relevant test moment or the details of the result. To do this, the following should be specified in the settings of the blueprint (see the article Add new blueprint or blueprint settings: Under the heading 'Retake settings' the number of times a candidate may retake an exercise, practice test or test can be indicated.
In case of a (summative) test, the candidate can never start the retake himself/herself. In the case of an practice or graded practice an extra line is visible where you can choose whether the candidate or the teacher can activate the retake.
Activate retake

When it concerns a (summative) exam, we advise to create a separate test moment for the retake, because a retake of a test moment must fall within the set time of the test moment. The test time of a (summative) exam is often set to a specific number of minutes, which is often too short for planning and administering a retake.

When the retake is based on the same blueprint, we advise to use a blueprint that selects random questions (see the article Random tests). In this way the candidate will won't have the exact same questions in the retake. To do this, there must be enough questions from which to randomly select.
